Last year I was hired by HP to do a complete set design for one of their Premium Photo Papers. I love the creative end of my job, and had a blast designing multiple settings for the product shoot. My Dream Team of vendors consisted of Ana from AB Covers for linens, Eduardo from Petunia Flowers for all florals, and Rosie of Elegant Temptations for a beautiful cake. We had a great time with the vendors, production crew, models, and DDW staff Bonnie and assistant Katie.
It was my job to make each set look as realistic as possible. To do this, I created a mock wedding that consisted of multiple sites giving the illusion of an actual wedding day. All the elements of a real wedding were present, the tables, chairs, linens, centerpieces, aisle runner, canopy, extra's as guests, models for Bride & Groom, parents of our mock couple, along with stemware, china, even down to the champagne for the toast. We brought in musicians to add ambiance and allow the models and extras to interact as they would at a real wedding. At the end of the shoot the cake and champagne were enjoyed by all!
Ultimately, I was aware that the purpose of the photos were to be utilized as stock footage serving both domestic and international markets. Much to my surprise, as I walked into Office Max to buy photo paper I saw my work on the front of an HP box...this was extremely cool, a total goose bumps moment!! Below are some of the photos from the shoot taken both personally and by the professional photographer.
