So, this is it. My last, official contributions to Pencil-Lines. LG guested and created the sketch we used, #231, and funnily enough we actually used the same patterned paper for this one as well.

It’s been three+ wonderful years with Pencil-Lines, but well, all good things has to come to an end – it’ll be somewhat funny and weird not having to do PL anymore..Thank you so much for the wonderful time together, Anna + PL!! It will be fun to follow the new team on the sideline :)

Nevertheless..the papers are from Pink Paislee (from the Sweetness-collection), and the flowers from Prima and Kort & Godt.

I decided that since it was my last, official contributions (and I really liked the sketch as well), I might aswell do another CD-card (plus, I needed to make two of’em at once, so :p). Once again – papers and stickers from Pink Paislee (Starlight-collection)…I really like this collection, despite it being “4th of July”-themed – it’s still not that typical and quite versatile enough that I’ve used it a lot in the past. Am actually creating a layout with these papers atm too…

As you might notice, I turned the sketch some for this one.

And since there’s been quite a bit of photos on my blog lately, I figured I’d throw in another card, hm?

A quick card I created for my mother-in-law, who needed a card for her sister’s birthday. I used a mix of Fancy Pants (the base), 3ndypapir (the illustration of the girls + butterflies), Hambly Screenprints (love the birdcage-motif – one sheet of that transparency lasts forever the way I use them and is perfect for such cards/layouts :) ) and flowers from Kort&Godt and Prima.

I sprayed the image with glimmer-mist, it doesn’t show too well here but shimmers in reality :)

I love to pair two or more butterflies like this – it’s become pretty popular lately, and hey, one have to admit it looks better than just one butterfly alone? :)

Oh, and even a leftover-strip of Pink Paislee snuck in..haha..actually the same scrap I used for the first card in this post I just discovered :)

I do have a number of layouts I’ve created lately – but am not able to share yet (I think I count three or four waiting to be shared). Just sayin’, since it might seem like I’ve gone total cardmaker-y on you. I promise I have not. Not entirely, anyways :)

And for my yarn-friends (you know who you are!) – this looks like a great idea, doesn’t? Or will the birds think that’s like, food, and that’ll be bad? Eeh…

So, this layout is based on Pencil-Lines sketch #228, guested by Aussie Tanya Tahir.

I used a mix of Toy Box and School Spirit and well, simply scraps lying on my desk..

For the big circle on the sketch I decided I wanted a heart, and cut one out from cardstock (just freehand-draw a heart before cutting it out. Or free-cut one). Then I layered the pieces on it, zigzaging as they went on. When the heart was covered I cut around the heartshape (slightly above the edge of the cardstock/base), sewed straight stitches around and distressed the edges.

Look at that doily! I found some at my local scrapbook-store the other day, and decided it was about time for me to jump on that bandwagon (only, I’m probably so late for it that it has gone already…huh?) Nevertheless. Old flowers from Prima, new buttons from Crate Paper, tags from Elle’s Studio…

And the photos used on the layout? Taken with my iPhone (*loves*).

This was taken inside AnneK’s truly cozy and inspiring store/workplace. I dropped by (with Marie, thanks for the company!) to purchase one of her “Mursteinsengler” (Brick-angels) for my nephew.

Each angel is unique, the only thing being in common are the eyes and the mouth. The project is called “Engler gir murstein” (Angels yields bricks”),  they’re all created from scraps, and the money goes to purchase bricks to build a childrens village called Garden of Eden in Kenya. One angel yields 40 bricks. I thought it was a nice gesture, and the angels are oh, so cute (I think I need to buy more). You can read more about the project here (in Norwegian), and also buy an angel or two through the blog as well. She plots where each angel will be given to on a big map aswell. Ofcourse she plotted in my nephew :) I hope he’ll like his angel :)

Added this one because I found this saying pretty cute: “Mommy look, it looks just like in Stormwind!” – quote my five year old, who loves playing WoW :) (Paraphrasing another quote: “Mom, I love my friends in the kindergarten, I love painting, I love playing games (WoW/PC-games), I love drawing, I love Adrian, I love watching cartoons, I love you and dad!”)

I’m sure I had a lot more to share, but my brain’s a mush atm and I think I’ll aim for an early night tonight too (which makes it – three early nights this week, hrm!). Am leaving for Oslo next week and have a number of things to wrap up/try to fix before then! Am oh, so looking forward to this trip!

Pencil-Lines sketch #227 – created with the new “Sweetheart”-papers from 3ndypapir :) Oh, and some Hambly, old letters from Heidi Swapp & American Crafts and a sheet of Crate Paper (the striped one), as well as a tag from Elle’s Studio :) The image is taken w/my iPhone at the library – they have a nice little section for kids w/this chairhousethingie :)

The paperflowers are cut from a sheet of the green paper in “Sweetheart” and layered – same thing w/the angel..

I like that there’s no need to edit the images when taking pictures w/my iPhone – they’re usually edited already, either with filters (I love Instagram & Hipstamatic) or by using the editingprogs TiltShiftGen or Filterstorm. And – for my needs – just printing them small-ish, they’re just perfect and prints beautifully. I also like the Pocketbooth-app (Amalie loves this one), but haven’t tried to print out these images yet.

I’ve also felt the itch to take more pictures of my kids w/the DSLR & edit them, it’s actually very fun and rewarding doing so…I think I’ll aim to get better at this..

eating: our new dinner-fave (throw diced rutabaga, carrot, potatoes, garlic, onions together w/meat (tonight we did shreds of leftover-chicken&diced vossakorv), some water, some cream and broth), let simmer for an hour or more – until the rutabaga is soft..mmm,.. add either World’s Best Dinner Rolls or English Muffins (we had the latter, I froze some from last time & it’s still so very yummy when thawed&reheated in the oven) – lovely!
drinking: tap water
wearing: some old cord-pants and a purple knit jacket.
feeling: stuffed & tired! :p & looking through some babysession-piccies and getting excited for next week’s babysession!
weather: blah blah – this one is such a boring q – good thing there’s only one more day left of this “feelings”-thing! ;p
wanting: not much – two cakes already baked (I went for this for the chocolate one and this as the base for the marzipan-one) – all I need now is tomorrow’s pizza&hotdog-baking to go just as smooth :)
needing: I dunno..maybe a glass of wine just to commend that I’ve been such a good baker today? ;p
thinking: how weird..tomorrow my oldest turns 10…yikes! (and how unfair for him that because I’ve been such a bad planner for his bday I’ve decided to try get better when it’s Amalies turn in a few months…ofcourse it remains to be seen whether I actually manage to get better at planning stuff, but still…)

I think the card is perfect! Share the recipe for oreo muffins, although I guess the measurements would be different from what I know.

Thank you! :) The Oreo Muffins can be found here (in Norwegian); here’s the English translation (she originally got the recipe from her US sister-in-law, so it should be easy to reverse the measurements):

Oreo Cupcakes

1 stick of butter
3 large egg whites
1 cup milk
2 cups (all purpose) flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
0.85 cup (caster?) sugar (this one was difficult, it says 190gram sugar, but it doesn’t translate into anything “smooth” US-wise like the other measurements)

45 oreo cookies

Start with taking apart the oreo-cookies – place the part w/the white filling filling-side-up in the muffin-forms. Bat the butter airy, add milk+vanilla, then flour/baking powder/salt – continue mixing – add sugar – mix/bat for approx 2 minutes – add egg whites – bat/mix for 2minutes at high speed – then add the rest of the oreo-cookies (which’s broken into 2 or 4 halves and lightly mixed with a bit flour).

Put in the oven for 20-25 minutes at 350F

We’ve eaten it w/o frosting (delicious), but am thinking that next time I’ll try the frosting she mentions in the reciepe:

21 oz philadelphia
1 stick of butter
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3-4 cups icing sugar (hmm or is it confectioners sugar? Very very finely grounded sugar..)
roughly grounded oreo-cookies w/o cream

ok..my little girlie yellin at me, I’m supposed to introduce her to Sound of Music, gotta run! ;p

Ps. The design team call for Pencil-Lines ends tomorrow – don’t forget to get your application in :) It’s a wonderful team to work with, I’m going to miss them lots!

Ps2. Norwegians, look at this! Nathalie Kalbach and Wenche Wold are going to teach at this upcoming Papirfesten! Nat is a wonderful, amazingly creative soul whose classes really have to be experienced, and if you’re into cardmaking I’m sure Wenche could show you a thing or two! Really contemplating going, but with so much going on at that time I’m not sure if I really can, sigh….maybe….?

Now, it shouldn’t be necessary to brag that “Oy, I changed the tires this year”, because truthfully, it’s quite easy (even easier if you got the right tools, which I intend to obtain before next time…but ..I think I thought about that last time too, but didn’t do anything about it, so…) and why is it so that it’s expected that men do that while it’s “oh, great for you!” when women do? (ok, the easiest would be to just put it away and let someone else do that for you, but I hate the queues at the autoserviceplaces )

So, I went to Papirfesten this weekend and had a jolly good time, at least the two first days. If you happened to meet me on Sunday, I really apologize for my somewhat grumpy appearance – it’s just me mourning the loss of my previously good relationship with Rum&Coke. I’m too old for that shit. ‘Nuff said.

I’m surprised that I actually managed to scrap at Papirfesten – knowing myself I was like “ugh, I never get anything done at crops – especially larger ones – no point bringing stuff along” so I just went with my binder with very very old never-gotten-around-to-scrap photos & mostly old papers and embellishments that had been in my cropbag for years. I did grab a few 6x6 pads of the new Pink Paislee stuff for good measure. But – lo and behold – I actually managed to scrap two layouts and create two cards! And they were all finished at the crop, no “need to finish at home” stuff this year, yay me! :D

Now, I just need to take photographs of the new creations, which I haven’t gotten around to yet, so in the meantime: Here’s my layout for Pencil-Lines and Halloween-stuff for Elle’s Studio (for this months challenge, join in for a chance on a 25$ gift certificate to the store!).

 This weeks’ sketch was created by our guest, Tamar Bostock, from Australia, better known as the woman behind Tarisota.

I decided to whip out my Pink Paislee-stuff for this one, and some photos I’ve been meaning to scrap for a good long while (ie, printed out long, long time ago :p) and yeah :p Pretty much all of the stuff on this page is from the Sweetness-collection, while the dressed chipboard in the middle is a piece from the Faux Bois Mini Book from Old School :p The bling seen here is from Prima.

Love the metal-badge! I wanted the photos to look like they were hanging from this badge.. Mm yeah, banners are slowly growing on me I guess :p The power of the trends, uh :p

As for this months challenge over at Elle’s Studio, we were to use the digital Halloween-stuff. I’m all up for a good challenge, but being a traditional scrapper myself I have to admit I was a wee bit sceptical. But hey, it’s just to pick out the designs you wanna use, decide whether you wanna do photopaper or cardstock, decide size then print out – if you wanna use them the trad. way. No? :)

So I decided to just take the plunge & whip up my Fancy Pants Halloween-papers and rubons and just get started…

First out: A tag. Grab a tag, a sheet of a book & spray mist on’em. Add printouts (here I used Halloween Papers shrunk so it looks like a tag (the purple one), Halloween Circle tags and Halloween Journaling Tags). Rubons and ribbon from Fancy Pants :)

Then I decided to wrap a candybar – this one is oh, so easypeasy. Wrap a piece of paper around, add tags – tadah.

And then we have the card. I’ve seen lots of cool tea-light cards out there – they seem to be popular with cardmakers – cards that have tea-lights on the side, like a little gift. Not sure what they’re called. Anyways, instead of tea-lights I figured I’d gift someone a card (haven’t decided who yet, so y’all better be nice with me! :p) w/chocolate bar.

This cute little ghost is a rubon from Fancy Pants – I added purple gems for eyes and covered the whole rubon with glossy accent :)

Here you can see how the card is made..   And here’s the tags used – both circle & journaling-tag which was printed out on cardstock and either sewn on or had rubons decorating them.

Hmm, I did plan on sharing some photos and a little more from Papirfesten, esp the cute babyphotos of Oddbjørgs beautiful little daughter Lykke, but this post is long enough as is, so I’ll just put up a separate post after cooking dinner and stuff mehtinks.

Things gets confusing sometimes. Like this card, which I now see I’ve forgotten to share. A weddingcard. Wedding = Hambly. No doubt about that.

And I love the copper-paint partly applied to the edges here. This fleur-thingie is from Tattered Angels by the way, sprayed w/lots of gold & peach mist and embellished w/a primagem. Yeah, a sort of traditional wedding card – love that Hambly have these lovely designs perfect for such stuff.

Hm. Made this layout for Pencil-Lines, but no, I seriously don’t like the result. Too boring…too plain.. too bleh.. hrm…well. At least I got rid of a few scraps from my ever-flooding-table. That’s good for something, huh?

Despite the simplicity of this layout there’s a mix of Fancy Pants Designs, Sassafras, Hambly & MLS on it…

Feeling mellow..

made this cake yesterday (well, hubbys cousin baked the cake when she was here earlier this week, and I put it together & decorated it for her)..

It looked like a huge slab of chocolate, but tasted yummy..esp the frosting :)

I also made this little cake-topper from Elle’s Studio-tags, red cardstock and letters from Pink Paislee. Sorta more quick and easy than buying & adding 85 candles…. :)

Nailpolish has sort of been “my” kind of makeup – considering I rarely use any makeup at all (mostly because I can’t put on makeup to save my life…I need to learn some Asian makeup-tricks! If there are any..?? Lately I’ve tried to add some eyeliner w/various results..but I digress). Anyways. The interest was huge in college but has been up and down the last few years, but is now resparked (blaming Xstine for that). Here’s First Class Ticket from China Glaze’s Vintage Vixen collection (worn for three days at the time the picture was taken)…swoon! I’m crazy for Deborah Lippmann’s Bad Romance & Across the Universe, but she don’t ship Internationally, duh >< (and the ebay’ed stuff I’ve seen is so expensive when it comes to shipping :( )

Oh, and edited to add – it’s still 30 more minutes of today (19th): In honor of Talk Like a Pirate Day – Top Ten Pickuplines for Pirates ;)
