Got a pack of Halloween-papers from Authentique, and together with an empty box of perfume, wooden sticks & some Glue Arts adhesive it actually turned into something pretty cool (if I may say so myself).

Check out what Lesley Langdon did with her Halloween-papers & join the giveaway here.

Right. Spent this weekend in Stavanger, although..didn’t get to see too much of the city, but hey, I got to whip out the camera for this:

_DSC4117a_DSC4122_DSC4123a_DSC4124a

What that is? Well, the kids trying to catch the candy in their mouth..by running straight against the candy with their eyes wide…shut?? (they’re not too bright, these kids of mine, uh? :p)…the candy is tied to an air balloon… oh, the fun you can do in a hotel-room! *grin*
(yeah some of my scrappy friends might recognize this kinda hotel-room too..:p)

My little girlie started 1st grade last week! So this is mainly for my mom..

_DSC2508

“Auntie, how come you always take a lot of pictures of me when I’m here!?” she said, slightly not-all-too-willing. Well sweetie, I only get to see you twice or so a year – so I need to make the best outta the time we have together….

She understood that. That, plus the promises of chocolate when done might have had a say I guess.

_DSC9079

Love her to bits I do..

_DSC9124ed

Despite her unwillingness to properly cooperate.

_DSC9131

But then I always have my own children. Like Amalie, who wonders why I’m not taking a picture of her because the lens wasn’t centered at her. “But you’re not pointing it at me mommy!”. Artistic choices, sweetie!

_DSC9072

And my oldest, who have long learned that he just gotta shut up & play along – the sooner I’m happy the sooner he gets away…

_DSC9142

Not sure if I’m happy with the editing here, but ahwell.

Right. Off to make sure the kids doesn’t drown themselves in the bathtub (jokeeee! :p)

Be back before you know it w/scrappy stuff! (darn slow manufs, I wanna share the gazillion stuff I’ve created but can’t until they’re done with their CHA-peeks!)

Today’s the National Day here in Norway…the Norwegian Constitution Day…

Just a few pics for mom++

_DSC5249_DSC5253_DSC5279

Shortly after the parade started, the rain came pouring down. Actually, this (above) was pretty much the last photo of the day. Did we know it was gonna rain? Uhm yeah, we might have had a suspicion. Did we remember umbrellas and stuff? Nope. Nevertheless, that was the end of any more photos from me that day…apart from some taken w/the iPhone, like the one below.

I wore my bunad ofcourse. Østfold ftw!

Be back soon w/scrappy stuff! :)

_DSC4100

So, Saturday came and went – we had a wonderful day - especially Amalie, who turned six… she already had gotten her present from us – a bicycle – so this morning she just got some smaller pressies from us and her brother (a locket necklace from this artist – her cousin got a similar one, only with a lighthaired girl :p, and a Hello,Kitty DS-game..while I love the locket and the artist (and more important, Amalie loves it too), it’s unfortunately not too sturdy so I probably need to get it refitted into a better necklace or fix the jump ring or something so the locket will stop falling from the necklace :/).

_DSC4116

We had Easter-dinner where we invited some family-members, and she got more pressies…here’s the book she got from my mother – she loves Oistein, a Norwegian artist/drawer who’s featured on the children’s television where he shows children easy steps to do fun drawings..(“he’s so, so, so good!” quote Amalie)

_DSC4129

In case you wondered how old she turned…

_DSC4148

Later that afternoon grandmother and her cousin arrived too, straight from the summerplace, and with even more gifts. A great day for her indeed.

jobb

A while ago I received an email from Sue Mylde, also known as Missusem, asking if I wanted to take part in a creative journey of hers: Words & Perspectives. Never one to say no to challenges, I accepted, and created this layout. You can find my blogpost here.

jobb_cu1

My chosen word was “jobb” – “work/job” – as this request came at a time when I had just gotten the job I now have (journalist at the local newspaper). It gave me a nice kick in the behind to document this part of my life – thank you so much for that, Sue! :)

jobb_cu2

I used mostly Pink Paislee’s Starlight-collection, along with a piece of Sassafras (the yellow polka-paper), Elle’s Studio tags and rubons from Hambly Screenprints (while I loved this colorscheme, I found it a bit too dark – so adding a white doily + white rubons helped lots imo).

Last day of the Easter-vacation…break..whatever it’s called in English..been a good one..warm..sunny…lovely..much needed….and oh, we finally finished Battlestar Galactica season4 (left it off long time ago in the beginning of season4) :p

Ps.

For Norwegians: Scrappehuset har et skikkelig flott fotokurs med Nabo’n som må leses for alle som er interessert i å vite mer om kameraets innstillinger – du finner den her.

amalie

Wow.

Six years ago we got to meet you for the very first time. You are simply amazing. Together with your brother you light up our lives every. single. day. We all love you so much. And to imagine. Being six years old means you’ll start school this Fall. The school you currently call “my brother's school” will soon also become yours. Here's to hoping this next chapter of your life will become as joyous as the previous one has been. Stay true to yourself always, don’t ever lose that confidence of yours.

Yours forever,

mom

Ps.

finished_wand

She got this wand today, along with other gifts (well ok, she got to model the wand a few days ago .p) – it’s created for Glue Arts and their collaboration with Epiphany Crafts (they have these make-your-own-epoxy-buttons and cute felt embellishments). For step-by-step instructions on this wand + a chance to win Glue Arts-adhesive + Epiphany Crafts stuff – head over here :)

I’ve been so extra sucky at snapping photos of the kids w/my DSLR ever since I got the iPhone (hm. Last time I’ll mention the iPhone, I promise..for a while..), so here’s some photos I forced myself to take w/the DSLR :)

_DSC2833

Gotta admit….the DSLR sure is handy when it comes to Earth Hour ;)
ISO 800 – 24mm – f/2.8 – 1/20 sec

_DSC2846

ISO1600 – 24mm – f/2.8 – 1/25 sec

_DSC2849

And here’s the glow-necklace I talked about (on IG I think) – it glows in the dark and continued to do so for at least 18-24 hours..think..rave..haha... The kids found this fun :) You can’t really see him (because he kept moving and it’s quite dark), but Adrian is helping Amalie wearing this “necklace” here.

ISO1250 – 26mm – f/2.8 – 1/25sec

_DSC2976

The kids had their cousin sleep over the other day, and cooked us dinner (the keyword is to tell them you’ll judge their food and throw the dice to give them grades ;p That’ll make them all over this task ;p)

_DSC2977

I told Adrian he was the master chef in charge (as he was the only one w/some experience cooking dinner on his own of these kids) – and he rose to the challenge, delegating responsibilities and showed them what to do if they wasn’t sure….so cute to watch..I knew he’d be good at this, I’ve seen how he naturally takes charge when playing WoW w/the others, but still..nice to see it play out in irl-fields too :) )

_DSC2992

This dude told us we just had to back up his story, telling his mom he actually DID cook..apparently for the first time in his life…hehe…

_DSC2999

We gave them 5 out of 6. They weren’t satisfied with us explaining that they needed to have something to reach for, hence no 6, so they ran to grab a dice & threw it until they all got 6 :p

_DSC3040

It was quite foggy when I was gonna put Amalie to bed, so I told her “quick, grab a dress and let’s go out for a bit” :p I dunno, I was hoping for a bit more fog, but hey, a little fog is better than no fog :p She oughta quit doing these poses though..

_DSC3043

To which I told her: “Ok, enough now, do something else” – “hmmm!”

_DSC3045

Then she gave me this,.. :p

_DSC3048

And this…

_DSC3052

And this..and then we went back into the house to brush her teeth and read her a book :p

Hoping for more fog soon…fog equals cool backgrounds…plus….I only got to snap photos of her while the cars were passing once – the other times I couldn’t focus in time, sniff…they create such cool light-trails in the fog sorta (see first fog-photo)…(all fog photos: ISO1250, f/2.8, 24mm, 1/40sec)

Hoopla…busy week inc…my last one before starting work for real next week :)

First – thank you so much for your warm and lovely comments about my grandmother in the last blogpost – and that you (who were vocal anyways) didn’t mind me sneaking in some lots of private photos :) So – here’s the rest of the photos from Oslo – namely from the christening of my nephew.

Warning: there’s a shitload of photos incoming – but hey – it’s a christening – a big, important day – and all of my family live on the other side of the country, so I figured they could watch some photos here while waiting for the CD with the images in the mail…

_DSC2194

Let’s start off with grandma taking her place in the church. That’s my mother on the right, and her brother on the left..

_DSC2203

Let’s just be clear – I cut my hair w/bangles WAY before her. Like, one or two weeks before her! So typical littlesisters! She looks great though ;p

_DSC2204

She’s beautiful when she smiles :) (hm..she’s beautiful nevertheless :p)

_DSC2213

The kids were playing around the altar before the whole thing started. Whenever they do these kind of things I’m torn – one – I find that it yields such cute images, so I keep snapping them, probably encouraging them as well….but two – ahem..they should be sitting in their places, no? :p

Ps.Love the colorscheme of this church, yellow, grey and teal. Such a sweet combo!

_DSC2215

The father and his mother..

_DSC2243

My oldest niece was carrying him and the youngest took off his hat (which by the way was borrowed from my friend – THANK YOU so much! My sister’s was too small for him, and I couldn’t find mine..). Nevertheless – love how Tuva expressed her exitement here.._DSC2254-copy

…aaaand he cried…

_DSC2257-copy

…and cried some more…

_DSC2261-copy

That’s the whole host of godparents..

_DSC2275

Hmm..I just like this picture..

_DSC2284-copy

The annoying thing with groupphotos and lots of photographers is that people tend to look anywhere else but me!! ;p

_DSC2293-copy

See..my nephew is looking at somebody else!! ;p

_DSC2306BW

My sweet, gorgeous niece..

_DSC2329-copy

Making faces…my stepfather to the right..

_DSC2336-copy

The proud papa!

_DSC2345-copy

Love this image because of two things; my grandmother doing her “really??”-face, and my daughter sneaking in trying to touch her cousin (she loves him and keeps caressing his face all the time)

_DSC2349-copy

Grand-grandma and grand-grandson :p

_DSC2378-copy

The parents..

_DSC2387-copy

My mother, sister & nephew..

_DSC2399-copy

Love this shot!! :D So full of life :)

_DSC2423-copy

My father giving a speech..

_DSC2437-copy

Hi Becca! :)

_DSC2441-copy

One of the cakes – my mother spent hours trying to create the perfect babyface ;p

_DSC2449-copy

Tried to get some shots of the mainperson…

_DSC2465-copy

Like this one…

_DSC2479-copy

And finally – the final picture…

Right, thanks for watching through my images here…sigh..I miss him and my nieces so much :)

Mmm…the next post will be scrapbook-related, I promise…plus, I have a wonderful babysession to share with you soon too! :)
